NETHERLANDS                         600th Anniversary of the City of Purmerend

In 2010 the city of Purmerend celebrates it's 600 years anniversary of the granting of city rights. To commemorate this event a special event station with the call PC600P will be activated during three periods in 2010. These periods are January 1-27, May 1-28 and September 1-28. QSL via PA3HGP. All the QSO data will be uploaded to LOTW and eQSL after each activity period, and will be automatically confirmed via the bureau when the last period has ended. Local operators are expected to operate under special prefix call signs (i.e. PA600MIR, PA601FR, PA602SWL, PA603HGP, PD602YL, PE603HG, etc)

A special award will be available for amateurs who contacted PC600P and stations from Purmerend.  Dutch stations need 600 points, European stations need 450 points, stations from outside Europe need 300 points.

Point Values:
1. At least one contact with PC600P = for 100 points. 
2. Contacts with a Dutch station with a "600" prefix station =  50 points as well as contacts with stations from Purmerend's sister-city Jihlava in the Czech Republic.  These Czech stations are: OK2BEJ, OK2BPV, OK2KJI, OK2PBF, OK2PYA, OK2UFU, OK2VYJ, OK2WKW, OK2ZDL, OK2ZU OK6CZ, OK7ZD, OL9X and OL0E.
3. Contacts with other Dutch stations from the region Waterland = 25 points.

You may use any band and any mode but points credit is only given once for every band-mode combination. The award is also available for SWL's but QSO's reported on the DXclusters do not count. Applicants need to send in a log with QSO's before January 31 2011 to the award manager.  Sending QSL's for the award is not necessary but will be appreciated.  To cover postage costs a fee of €2,- $3,- or 2 new IRC's must accompany your application.

The Award was created to support the goal of building a well for drinkable water in a village of the Central African Republic. The award, on parchment, show the photos of Central African children’s and the Convent of St. Bernardino in Genoa (Italy), center of the infirmary, rest home of the elderly religious and the Center of Foreign Missions of Cappuccini. The award will be signed by the Provincial Minister and with the operator of the radio station. The person responsible of the Award and manager is IK1APO Gianni Calafato.

ITALY                         30th International Diploma HF "Leonardo da Vinci"

1. Participation: Any world-wide OM and SWL can participate.
2. Period: starts at 00:00 UTC on May 1st 2010 and ends at 24:00 UTC on June 15th 2010.
3. Bands: all the HF frequencies, but no WARC are allowed.
4. Mode: SSB only.
5. Score: Stations outside of Europe need only 3 points or 3 SWL reports to receive the Diploma, while Italian or European stations need at least 10 points or 10 SWL reports. More than one contact with the same station is allowed but only if the contacts are made on different date or band. Contact with the same station made in a different band but same day, must be logged with at least one hour of interval. Any contact or SWL report is worth 1 point. During the period above mentioned stations called "Jolly" might be on air and a contact with such station will be worth 3 points. During the Diploma period it's accepted only one contact a day on each band with only one Jolly station.
Every contact must be logged with:
     – progressive number
     – R-S report
     – QTR report
IQ5EM, a super "Jolly" Station of the Empoli Radio Club, will be randomly active and any contact with this station = 5 points. Within 31st July 2010 all the world-wide OM and SWL (NOT Italian) who would have sent all the necessary documentation and logged at least 30 points will be ranked into the 30 th International Contest HF "Leonardo da Vinci" with awards for the 1 st world-wide OM, 1st world-wide SWL, 1st OM of each Continent, 1 st Eco Charlie, 2nd OM of USA, 2nd OM of Europe.

GERMANY               CW – Activity Week Award

To promote telegraphy on all amateur bands (HF, VHF, UHF) the German Telegraphy Club (DTC) sponsors two activity weeks and a special award for completing its requirements. The CWAW takes place twice a year, each with separate awards. All CW QSOs made during these period count, "normal" QSOs or QSO Contest, on all amateur bands.

Scoring:
a) for the HF bands is:
- Each contest QSO counts 1 point
- Any non-Contest QSO counts 2 points
b) for the VHF / UHF bands is:
- Each contest QSO counts 2 points
- Any non-Contest QSO counts 3 points

Total score: sum of all points

Note for QRP participants: Contacts for all QSOs with QRP (max. 5 W 10 W input and output) may be multiplied by 1.25 points in the final invoice amount, to compensate for the QRP-Handicap.

There are no results in terms of participants rating, but every participant who makes from 30-59 points will receive a beautiful "CWAW" commemorative QSL card, and all participants, who earn more than 60 points, will receive an attractive certificate.  Logs should be sent to the sponsor by 31 May and 31 October respectively.  Fee for European applicants is $US2 or 1 IRC, and for those outside Europe $US3 or 1 IRC. TURKEY                150th Anniversary of Sile Lighthouse Award

Between May 2010 and August 2010, the TC Special Wireless Activity Team (TCSWAT) in collaboration with Coastal Safety Administration and Municipality of Sile is going to activate the historical Sile Lighthouse to commemorate its 150th Anniversary. The dates for this special event station, TC150SLH, are as follows:

1. 1-9 May 2010 Opening Ceremony Activity
2. 24-25 July 2010
3. 21-22 August 2010 International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend

Only one QSO from previous activations from this Lighthouse,TC2SLH and TC2LHS, counts for the award. To be eligible for the award, there make at least one QSO for every activity week/weekend.

Nysa is one of the oldest towns in Silesia located on the southern border of Poland very close to the Czech Republic. It was the scene of numerous conflicts during the Thirty Years War, the Napoleonic Wars, and WWII. 
This award is sponsored by The Nysa Amateur Radio Club of the PZK and the Historical Group of 32 Nysa to promote the city and fortress of Nysa. The award features Napoleonic Era battle re-enactments.

Earn a total of at least 40 points using HF and VHF bands during the period 8 May to 8 August 2010.

Polish Club SP3PKC 'LAMBDA' sponsors a diploma to celebrate 600 years of civic rights for the Ksi Wielkopolski. This diploma is available to all amateurs and SWL in the period from 15 May to 15 August 2010 who earn a total of 600 points according to the following schedule:

FRANCE                               TM24H - The 24 Hours of Lemans Award

In conjunction with the annual twenty-four hours of Le Mans racing event, the special station TM24H will be active during the period of May 30 to June 13, 2010.

If you contact the special event station for each of three years, you may apply for the Diplôme des 24 Heures's. Contacts of any 3 years are needed, and do not have to be in any kind of sequence. Since its inception in 1952 the special event station has used the following calls: F3YE, F3XC, F8GE, F6KFI, TV6ACO, TM6ACO and F6KFI. This year it is TM24H.

ITALY ITALIAN NAVY SEAL DIPLOMA

The Brindisi A.R.I. Section sponsors a permanent award honoring the "Italian Navy Seal". The award is dedicated to the memory of the "Italian Seals" particularly to the M/bsm (Battaglione San Marco) Filippo MONTESI, who was killed during a peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.  An activity period every year will help make the award available. For 2010, this will occur from 00.00 GMT on 31 May 2010 to 24.00 GMT 16 June 2010. The award is available to all amateurs and SWL around the world (QSOs among Brindisi stations is excepted). No use of repeaters.

The award is available for HF (Category A) or 50MHz and up (Category B).

Points required:
Category A
-
1. Stations located from islands around Brindisi as listed in the Italian Islands Award ( IIA) = 5 Points.
2. Stations who are members of the Brindisi ARI Association = 2 Points.
3. Special Event Station of the Brindisi ARI section IQ7PU = 3 Points.
4. Jolly station =5 Points.

5. Special calls = 4 Points

Category B -
1 point for each KM of QRB.

The award will be given for making 20 points for the A Category (Italian OM) or 15 points (DX stations, or a minimum 10 QSOs for the B Category (Italian OM) or 5 QSO (DX stations).  Each valid station can be contacted just once a day per mode or band. The Diploma will be awarded to those who send, no later than 31st July of every year detailed information about QSO (date, GMT time, mode, frequency, exchanged reports and progressive number sent by the station contacted), together with the QRB calculated and completed with the Locator for the B category.

POLAND             They Saved London Diploma

The award commemorates the partisans of the Polish Underground during WWII and their contribution to help uncover the secrets of the German "V" weapons of terror. These actions helped to turn the tide of battle and lead to victory over the Third Reich in 1945.

Look for and contact the special event stations organized for this award:
1. 3Z0VV - testing grounds for the V1 and V2 rockets during 1943-44.
2. 3Z0OBOZ - Concentration camp in Pustkowo where prisoners were used as slave labor.
3. 3Z0MOST - the place of landing of the DC-3 aircraft on the night of 25 to 26 July 1944 which received debris from a crashed V-2 missile for analysis by the allies.

GERMANY                      International YL Meeting Munich 2010 Award

On the occasion of this international YL meeting, an award is offered for contacts with YLs and any operators of Munich local associations. Their official meeting begins 18 June and ends 28 June, but the period for the award is the entire month of June.

Point Values:
a. Every YL and each club station activated by a YL = 2 points.    (Each YL station contacted must be located in Germany.)
b. Every station from Munich local associations (DOKs C09, C11, C12, C13, C18, C26 C34, Z13, Z67), including OM operators and club and educational stations = 1 point. .
c. YL club station DLØYLC of the district C =10 points.
d. Each valid contact with a different call sign counts one time only.
e All bands and modes of operation are allowed.

Points Required for the Award:
a. Applicants from DL need 88 points.
b. Stations from Europe need 33 points,
c. DX stations need 11 points.

RUSSIA                                  Kareliya-90

Sponsored by the Karelian Regional Branch of Soyuz Radiolyubiteley Rossil (SRR) in honor of the foundation of the Karelian Republic in 1920. This event starts on 0000 MOSCOW TIME on June, 01st to 2400 MOSCOW TIME on June, 30th, 2009 using all bands and modes for contacts. All amateurs and SWLs worldwide are invited to participate with stations of the Republic Kareliya and the radio stations on the territory of Republic Kareliya, working portable. Repeat contacts are allowed if on different bands and modes, and if the Karelian station is contacted from different districts (RDA) of the country.

The award "Kareliya-90" will be awarded for earning a total of 90 points for QSOs with Karelian stations (U1N and R1N). For veterans of the Great Patriotic War, one contact with special station R90K will be sufficient for earning the award.

Point values:
Station R90K = 30 points.
WWII veterans from Karelia = 20 points.
Club and individual stations from Karelia = 10 points.

HUNGARY                     International Danube River Ham Radio Activity

The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River has declared June 29, each year to be the INTERNATIONAL DANUBE DAY. On the occasion of this event the group of Hungarian ham radio amateurs living on or near the Danube River Bend, HUNGARY sponsor a regularly organized special event activity each year. All hams worldwide are kindly invited to take part!

a. all bands may be used.
b. all modes permitted including repeaters and VOIP.
c. participants should send signal report, operators name, QTH. Stations along the Danube shall send "nr Danube" or "/Danube" as well.
d. Points: stations from countries located along the Danube river = 1 point, 2 points may be claimed on DANUBE DAY, June 29th. QSOs with HG7DANUBE = 5 points and contacts on June 29th = 10 points.
e. Countries along the river: 9A DL ER HA LZ OE OM UR YO and YU .
f. Each station sending "/Danube" counts once for each band or mode.
g. Trophies: for highest score and next 3 top scores receive special Danube Day activity certificate.

The Formula One Grand Prix of Europe will be held in Valencia, Spain in June.  To help celebrate this event, eight special event stations (AM5FUV, AN5FUV, AO5FUV, EG5FUV, EH5FUV, AM5VFU, AN5VHU and AO5VFU) will be on the air from 8 to 27 June using all of the HF bands and modes (Digital, Phone and CW).  Contacts will be confirmed with a special color QSL card via the manager EA5FL, either by Bureau or Direct.  The HAMDXGROUP awards a Diplome for all amateurs and SWLs who have worked (heard) at least 4 different stations using any band or mode.   The award in PDF format will be sent free to all who apply.  The award may also be ordered in an already printed format at a fee of 5E to be sent by ordinary mail.

LITHUANIA                                 Grunwald-Zalgiris 1410-2010

Lithuanian and Polish amateur stations will operate special event stations to mark the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald/Zalgiris. The Lithuanian National Radio Society (LRMD) will issue special wooden Plaques to those operators and SWL's who fulfil the following conditions:

Contact special event stations with LY600 and LY1410 prefixes (13 stations listed below), and SN1410G, SN600G, SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G and possible other special event SP stations, earning a total of 600 points from 16 June 2010 to 15 August.2010.

Point Values:
A. European stations:
1. 100 points for each contact with special event stations LY600, LY1410 or SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G (at least 4 contacts are required);
2. 25 points for each contact with any other LY or SP station.
B. DX stations:
1. 200 points for each contact with a special event station LY600 or SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G (at least 2 contacts are required);
2. 50 points for each contact with any other LY or SP station.

Other Grunwald-Zalgiris special event stations may operate in Poland during the period, and they will also count for 100/200 points each.  Application deadline: 31 Dec 2011. USA                          USA Original 13 Colonies Independence Week Award

Sponsored by the US Original 13 Colonies Group to celebrate the 4th of July, American Independence Day and honoring the 13 original state colonies.  

A full color, 8 1/2"x11", certificate, printed on heavy card stock, with a map and the state flags of all the 1776 colony states, will be earned for working from just one state or, all 13.  The theme for 2010 is George Washington. Each colony state worked will be marked by the Purple Heart Medal (given for being wounded in combat to our armed forces). Also a special "Contact" logo will be affixed if you worked one or all 13 stations. A "Clean Sweep" indicator will also be affixed, for those lucky enough to contact all 13 special event stations. 

Special event call signs will be used (K2A Thru K2M).  All modes OK. The mode of operation is up to the individual colony state station. Please refer to the Station information page for details.

Send a  log stating the Date, UTC, Band, & call sign of each contact, plus a BLANK QSL CARD +$4.00 US. (to help defray printing costs). PLEASE NO STAMPS. NO SASE required. We will furnish postage, certificate and 9"x12" envelope via 1st class mail. The certificate will NOT be folded.

(The blank QSL card is needed because sometime we cannot read some folks hand writing :) All the info is on your card, which insures you will get the certificate in short order.)  You may print out a log form for your use from our website (see below).

All HF bands will be used except the WARC bands and 60 meters. It will be harder for these states to contact each other so, use of 40m-160m is encouraged.  The Special Event stations  will begin operating on July 1st at 1300 UTC and end July 6th at 0400 UTC.   SWL OK.

GERMANY                           Sea of Peace (SOP) - Pennon

The DARC e. V. - Distrikt Meckl./Vorp has sponsored the SOP Pennon since 1991, and will continue the tradition of over 40 years in 2010. Every year in the month of July, the radio amateurs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern district encourage special activities supporting the application of the SOP. The SOP is awarded for contacts with different countries/areas bordering the Baltic Sea and Norway each year from 1-31 July. Starting in 1992, we award SOP sticker (a small pennon) each year continuing accomplishment of the SOP competition.

Requirements: 
* On HF, European applicants must earn at least 15 points from such countries/areas and non- Europeans 10 points. A contact from Germany is compulsory.
* On frequencies above 30 MHz exclusively, applicants need only 5 points. DL is not compulsory.

Points:
* 1 QSO with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern district (DOK: V.., Z87, Z89, MVP, SOP..) = 3 points or
* 3 different other stations of DL = 3 points (DL max. 3 points).

VENEZUELA                          Independence of Venezuela Contest 2010, Diploma Independencia

To commemorate 199th. anniversary of Venezuelan Independence, the Radio Club Venezolano is sponsoring the 49th. Venezuelan Independence Day contest. It is a world wide type contest, so don't confine your activity working only Venezuela’s stations (YV, YW, YX, YY, and 4M).

CONTEST RULES

1. STARTS: 00:00 UTC JULY 03, 2010 ENDS: 23:59 UTC JULY 04, 2010
2. MODES : SSB and CW
3. Categories:
A. Single operator, single band. SSB, CW or Mixed.
B. Single operator, all bands. SSB, CW or Mixed.
C. Multioperator single transmitter. Only Mixed.
D. SWL all bands. Only Mixed.
4. BANDS: 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 y 160 meters.
5. EXCHANGE: RS(T) report plus QSO number starting at 001.
6. POINTS:
A. Contacts between stations in the same country one (1) point.
B. Contacts between stations on the same continent but different countries, three (3) points.
C. Contacts between stations on different continents five (5) points.
7. MULTIPLIERS:
A. One (1) for each YV call area contacted on each band.
B. One (1) for each different country contacted on each band (included own) regardless the mode.
C. Two qso's are allowed with a station in the same band, one in SSB and one in CW (but only one will count as multiplier).
8. SWL: A station can be reported in the log only 2 times on the same band, one as sending and one as receiving.
9. SCORING: Total QSO points from all bands, multiplied by the sum of the multipliers from each band.
10. AWARDS/PLAQUES: A plaque to the highest scorer in each class and certificates to stations working more than twenty per cent (20 %) of the score reached by winner in the same class. To achieve a plaque at least 100 valid QSO's must be logged.
11. LOG INSTRUCTIONS: all times must be in UTC. Must show date, time, station call, report and number sent, report and number Received, indication for new YV call area or country and points.
12. Use a separate LOG sheet for each band, and a summary sheet showing your call sign, name and address, as well as the scoring and the usual signed declaration stating that all CONTEST RULES and regulations for amateur radio in the country of the contestant have been observed.
13. Each YV call area (9) and each country (DXCC + WAE country list) should be entered only the first time they are contacted in each band regardless the mode.
14. If more than one band is present in the log without single band indication, the entry will be catalogued as All Band entry.
15. Contest logs are welcome in CABRILLO or ASCII format.

RUSSIA                      WRTC Contest Awards

This year, Russia is hosting the World Radiosport Team Championship event where most of the finest operators in the world compete against each other in the host country, all using similar rigs and antennas to see who truly is the BEST.

The Russian sponsors will be offering awards, special plaques, T-shirts and trophies to stations who contact the required number of these visiting contestors.  Remember, that the awards are only for contacting the Russian hosted operators, and not the other participants worldwide.  All WRTC stations will use distinctive callsigns from the R30A - R39Z prefix block.  The same WRTC-2010 station may be worked once on CW and once on SSB on each band (80 through 10).  No operations on 160 meters.

All stations working the IARU contest should send copies of their electronic, Cabrillo formatted logs to logs@wrtc2010.ru no later than 1800UTC on Sunday July 11, 2010.  This is only six hours after the end of the contest!  These logs will be used only to determine winners of the WRTC awards and prizes and to help cross checking the team logs. 

Paper Award: WRTC-2010 Certificate: for making 50 QSO points with the WRTC-2010 stations using any combination of modes and bands.

WRTC-2010 Special Trophy:
1. For making QSOs with ALL WRTC-2010 stations on CW.
2. For making QSOs with ALL WRTC-2010 staions on SSB.
3. For making QSOs with ALL WRTC-2010 stations using mixed modes.

and make this contest more interesting, ARABiH (E7HQ), HRS (9A0HQ) and OVSV (OE1A) teams agreed to sponsor additional plaques in three different categories on behalf of IARU:

Region 1.
This will be special HQ sprint plaques for following stations:  
     1. Station who will make most QSOs with HQ stations in first hour of the contest
 
     2. Station who will make most QSOs with HQ stations in first 12h of the contest
 
     3. Station who will make most QSOs with HQ stations in the contest.
  If  two or more stations have same number of QSOs with HQ stations, the winner is one which will make last QSO with HQ earlier.  
HQ stations are not eligible to win this award.
 
The number of QSOs will be determined from HQ logs after deadline and winners will
be announced as soon as possible.

POLAND             2010 W-HQ-S Award

From IARU HF Championship rules:(…) To contact as many other amateurs, especially IARU member society HQ stations, around the world as possible using the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter bands (…)

1. This award is issued by MK QTC (The Polish Radio Amateurs’ Journal) Editor.
2.
The purpose of this award is to encourage each station to maximize contacts with national IARU central stations all over the world, during the IARU HF Championship (10-11 July 2010 ).
3.
The award is issued in two classes:
     a. Basic, for having at least 10 contacts with the HQ stations, i.e. AO8HQ, DA0HQ, GB5HQ, EM7HQ, SN0HQ, IU8HQ etc.
     b. Special
, W-HQ-S Special Award, limited to top three operators worldwide, for having the the highest number of HQ stations contacted during the Championship.

Note: one HQ station counts per band and per mode, up to 12 times i.e. 1.8MHz-CW, 1.8MHz-SSB, 3.5MHz-CW, 3.7MHz-SSB, 7MHz-CW, 7MHz-SSB, 14MHz-CW, 14MHz-SSB, 21MHz-CW, 21MHz-SSB, 28MHz-CW – 28MHz-SSB.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Italian Acrobatic Team, the ARI Section of UDINE through the radio amateurs resident in the region "FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA" and the support of the 313th National Acrobatic Team "Frecce Tricolori" (Italian elite formation-flying team) situated in RIVOLTO di CODROIPO (UDINE) have organized the award : "50th Anniversary of P.A.N." Open to all OM's and SWL's in the whole world.

1. Dates: 1-20 Sept 2010.
2. Modes: SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31;
3. Bands: 10, 15, 20, 40, 80, and 2 meters;
4. Jolly (wild card) station: II3PAN will be active during the whole period of the award.

USA                             Route 66 On The Air 10th Anniversary

Sponsored by the Citrus Belt Amateur Radio Club to honor the famous "Route 66" highway. The certificate may be earned by contacting at least ONE of the special event stations or a mobile station signing "mobile 66" or "/m66" during the period 12-20 2010. 21 stations will be active the length of the highway from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. The call signs used will be W6A all the way through W6T. 

Special endorsements are available for contacting:  
1. Each of the 20 special event stations and 1 mobile station for a total of 21 stations.
2. at least one "mobile 66" station ((any station operating on Route 66 and signing "mobile 66" or "/m66" after their call sign).
3. at least one (1) special event club local VHF/UHF repeater.
