--- Awards Program of the Hungarian Radioamateur Society ---
General Requirements: Available to all licensed amateurs and SWL's. All bands and modes may be used, except repeater QSO's. Stations may be contacted only once on any band and any mode. GCR is accepted; exceptions: DUNAFERR awards need only a log extract and for the HCS award, you must enclose the required section of the QSL card.
The fee schedule for their awards series is as follows:
a. Pannonia, Savaria, Balaton and Hungarian Counties Awards = 10 IRC.
b. Dunakanyar/DD = 6 IRC OR $US3
c. Hungarian Rummy Diploma, Hungarian Canasta Diploma, and Worked Hungarian
Districts = 5 IRC.
d. Hungarian Castle Series - Bronze = 5 IRC, -Silver = 8 IRC, -Gold = 10 IRC.
e. DUNAFERR - no fee but postage should be sent - endorsement sticker: SAE
and IRC for postage.

Pannonia Award
Awarded by the Radio Club of Gyor. Contacts after 1 Jan 1966.
HA's need a total of 12 contacts - 3 from each of the HA/HG1, 2, 3 and 4 call
areas using at least 2 bands.
DX stations need 8 contacts - 2 from each of the above call areas using at
least 2 bands.
On VHF/UHF, you need 4 contacts, one from each of the above call area.

Balaton Diploma (BD)

be with a member of Radioclub Siofok.

Hungarian Rummy Diploma

Bronze: "hand rummy" collecting 14 cards in accordance with
the game rules.
Silver: full collection of one of the four series plus one Joker of
the same color. For example diamond 2...A plus Red Joker (14 cards)
Gold: full pack, containing 54 cards.

Hungarian Canasta Diploma
Also sponsored by the Somogy county group. Three canastas (21 cards) have to be confirmed in accordance with the rules of the game. May be endorsed for CW or Phone, but not Mixed.

The canasta contains 7 cards of the same figure, two of them can be equivalent, for example: 7 cards of the figure 5, 7 cards of figure 8 and 7 cards of Kings. Not more than 3 cards substituted by the 4 Jokers and the "Little-Jokers" (figure 2) in one canasta. Note: contacts after 4 April 1980 are valid for HRD-108 and HCD.
Amateur stations belonging to Radio Club "Tivadar Puskas" can send any kind of HRD cards for the qso's. These stations are: HA/HG3 GA GB GD GH GL GM GR GU HD HF HH HM HS HV HX HY KGC KGL KGR KGU KHC and KHJ.

Worked All Hungarian Counties (WAHUC)
Europeans need 2 contacts with each Hungarian county and 2 Budapest contacts for a total of 40 QSLs. DX stations need 1 contact with each county and 1 with Budapest. SWL OK. All bands and modes. Endorsements for all CW or SSB. Contacts after 1 March 1968.
A special WAHUC-MULTIBAND HF version is offered as followed:
Submit 75 QSL cards confirming 75 QSO's in different counties on any HF band, except WARC. Only one QSL per band from each county and Budapest. No mode restrictions.

Hungarian Castle Series (HCS)
Issued by the Hungarian Radioamateur Society. Contacts after 1 Jan 1968. Many Hungarian stations in each call area have special cards for the HCS Award. They are of different old castles (36 total) found throughout the country. Each of the cards has a tab area with the respective castle number. This must be cut off and submitted with your application. The award is issued in 3 levels:
- Bronze: Castle numbers 1-12 or 13-24 or 25-36.
- Silver: Castle numbers 1-24 or 13-36.
- Gold: Castle numbers 1-36 (all the cards)

Esperanto Diploma
Esperanto is a modern language developed in order to allow all peoples to
speak in a common tongue. Contact members of the International League of
Esperanto Radio Amateurs worldwide after 1 Jan 1970. Their cards must show the
word ESPERANTO, the abbreviation ILERA, a green stamp of a circle surrounding a
star and the word ILERA or Esperanto text. SWL OK. All bands/modes. Basic award
is for any 10 Esperanto cards as described above. Endorsements are for number of

Jasz Diploma
The "Pusta" region is located 100km east of Budapest. Parts of the HA7 call area are located here. All QTH’s in the region start with "Jasz", i.e. Jaszapati, Jaszbereny, Jaszfenyszaru and Jaszjakohalma. To achieve this award needs to contacts in Pusta region. Each station with a QTH starting with Jasz = 1 point. SWL OK. Look for special activity between May 1 and 20 each year.

Saint Steven Award
The award celebrates the Millenium existence of the Hungarian state and 1000 years Jubilee of the coronation of St. Steven, the first king of Hungary. Activity period every year will be held between 10 and 20 August starting in 2000. All bands and modes may be used in the competition period. Make contacts and earn points as follows:
HA, OE, OM, UR, YO,
