AUSTRIA     --- Additions to the  OVSV SERIES ----  Austrian Youth Award

Since 1 st January 2012 the ÖVSV Youth-Department has established its own award. The fee for one diploma is about 10,-€ and includes the shipping costs and also the material costs. The rest is for the ÖVSV Yout Department especially for the clubstation. The money may be transfered by bank or it can be atached to the award petition if you send it to us by post. Austrian Amateur Radio Society Youth-Department Mühlfeldstr. 13 A-4651 Stadl-Paura, Austia.

Payment may be made via electronic methods. If you prefer bank transfer please send a request to jugend@oevsv.at.

The diploma may be requested by a formless e-mail, letter or fax. It should include: your name, call sign, address, the name of the award being applied for list of contacts with all necessary information including calls of stations and name of operator. 

The diploma "Austrian Youth Award" (international) may be worked by every licensed radio amateur and SWLs. The conditions are the same. There are three categories of the award:

BRONZE with 1000 points
SILVER with 2000 points
GOLD with 3000 points

QSOs on every band,

QSOs in all modes (even Echolink, etc.),
More than one QSO with a station only count once (except Kid’s-Day-special-stations – once every Kid’s-Day).

BELARUS                          — Addition to the AGB Series ---
                                                           Prefixes of Belarus Award (PX-BELARUS)

The award (or Trophy) may be earned by any station contacting the required number of different prefixes of Belarus. The prefixes are determined in accordance with the rules of the diploma WPX, for example: EU1, EU2, EU3 ..., EW1, EW2 ..., EV1, EV2 ..., UC1, UC2, UC3, UC6, UC50 ..., RC2, EZ2, UK2 , RK2 ...

Separate awards are issued for the following numbers of prefixes of Belarus:
Class V - is given for QSO-HRD with 10.
Class IV - awarded for QSO-HRD with 15.
Class III - awarded for QSO-HRD with 20.
Class II - awarded for QSO-HRD with 25.
Class I - is given for QSO-HRD with 30.
PX-BELARUS-TROPHY" - awarded for QSO-HRD with 40.

SWL stations may earn the awards on the same basis as amateurs.

You must possess the cards, although all that is required with the application is a GCR-list. If you do not have enough confirmed QSL, but there are unconfirmed cards, you may contact Igor EU1EU-OK8EU with the QSO information from your log. He may be able to help you get the award credit if it is possible.  Your application (or GCR-list - (General Certification Rule)) should be certified by the signatures of two radio call sign and payment for the diplomas.

DENMARK                                                      OZFF Award

The OZFF Awards are sponsored by the OZFF-group. All of these awards are free and can only be applied for via the WFF log Search or mail to the Award manager.

The OZFF Awards use the online log system of EW4DX and the award is available in 3 classes.
A - Hunter
B - Activators
C - SWL

Class A and C can be applied for by contacting 5, 10 or 15 different Danish Parks and Nature Reserves. SWL OK. 

Class B can be earned by activators who operate from 1, 5, 10 or 15 different Danish Parks and Nature Reserves. The Activator Award can only be applyed for if are a member of the OZFF-group. There is no charge for these awards for activators.

FRANCE                                      CASTLES of SARTHE Diploma

Sponsored by F5OGC to promote the discovery of the cultural heritage of the Department of the Sarthe. 
Available to all licensed amateurs and SWLs. 

Any castle shown in the official list of castles produced by the DFCF is valid for this award. 
The award may use contacts on all bands and modes. A castle contacted on one or more bands or modes will still count for one required castle. 

DCS Basic Award: 20 castles
DCS Excellence: 35 castles
DCS Honor: 50 castles

You may request the award be sent to you as a digital file. In this case there is no charge. Awards which are requested by mail must include fee of 10 euros. 

Application: Send certified extract from your logbook. No QSL is required. The log extract must indicate the DFCF castles reference number and include other log information including dates and times in GMT.

FRANCE            — l’Union Nationale des Radioamateurs et Radioclubs Series — (URE)

The URC was founded in 1968 by F9AA who, unhappy with the decisions taken by the bureau of the REF, the French IARU member, wanted to create an alternative association to balance its power, especially vis à vis administration of French amateur radio operators.  While not systematic opponents to the French REF, they were forced to take alternative courses and warn about the potential consequences of REF policies.. Since its creation, the URC has put the emphasis on technical skill.

Diplome YL Award

Contact/SWL YL operators . The award is available in 3 classes using any bands and modes.

Class 1 - 15 French YL’s.
Class 2 - 15 French YL’s plus 10 YL of Foreign Countries.
Class Excellence - 20 French YL’s plus 15 Yls of Foreign Countries.

 

DIPLÔME URC DES RADIOCLUBS

The award is issued in 3 classes:

Class 1 - Spell out the name "Union of Amateur Radioclubs" using the first letter or last letter of the call sign of stations contacted. 
For example UR5VF   CT1LN      I1DEV.........etc.

The list of stations should represent at least 3 countries in each of the 6 continents.

Class 2 - Spell out the same name as above but only by using the last letter of the suffix of the stations contacted. 
For example ON1DU      LA3GN ............etc.     The list of stations should include all six continents.

Class 3 - Same as Class 1, except it must include at least 5 stations confirming a SWL report.

(The group also includes two awards aimed at SWLs, but which may be also earned by licensed stations.)

DIPLÔME ECOUTEUR – SWL – ECOUTEUR RADIO

Issued in 3 classes for providing proof of receiving SWL cards as follows:

1- 15 French SWL cards.
2 - 15 SWL cards plus 10 French foreign SWL cards.
3 - EXCELLENCE - 20 SWL cards plus 15 French SWL cards plus 1 YL SWL card. (A total of 36 cards).

Diploma of URC des SWL

Available in 3 categories:

A. SWL’s: must have received cards from 25 different countries plus 10 French Departments. (Total of 35 cards needed.)
B. Radioclubs: must have received at least 50 QSLs including cards from 20 different countries.
C. Amateurs: must have received at least 30 QSLs including cards from 10 different French Departments.

GERMANY                                     Pirna - Diploma

The German-Amateur Radio Club eV Ortsverband Liebstadt, DOK SØ3, sponsors the PIRNA diploma which may be earned by all amateurs and SWL’s. Contact stations in Pirna, Germany as well as nearby areas including the clubs of DOK’s SØ3, S1Ø, S15 and S26 on or after 1 January 1992.

Points needed for the award:
a. DL stations need 75 points, it is necessary to work at least one station from the DOK SØ3.
b. European stations need 50 points
c. DX stations need 25 points

Point Values:
a. SSB and FM contacts = 5 points each.
b. Contact with the club stations DLØLIE, DLØSTO, DLØUPC DLØPIR = 10 points each.
c. On CW, all contact values are doubled.

All bands and modes are allowed, only connections in packet radio and echo link are not allowed. GERMANY                                                        Swabia Diploma

The district of Swabia DARC sponsors the 'Swabian diploma for the purpose of promoting activity of the Swabian radio stations. The award is available for all licensed amateurs and SWLs for contacting stations in the DARC District of Swabia which include "T" and "Z-30" DOKs. Special DOK’s SQ and JRT can be counted for the award. Contacts on or after 1 January 1979. Award may be endorsed for one band or mode, or as mixed contacts. Mobiles operating in Swabia OK.

Point values and award requirements:
a. Each QSO with a ham radio station in the DARC district Swabia = 1 point on each band.
b. DL stations need 21 points from 14 different T-DOKs.
c. European stations need 14 points from seven different T-DOKs,
d. DX stations need 7 points from 4 different T-DOK.
e. 5.For FM stations operating in the districts need:
     1) DARC-Distrikte B, C, P, and T 14 DOKs,
     2) Stations of the remaining districts DARC 7 DOKs,
     3) and all other stations (EU / DX) 4 DOKs.

GERMANY                                              Waldeck-Frankenberg Award

Contact stations living in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, (those located in DOK’s F01, F21, F47 and F52), on or after 1 Jan 2012. Earn 100 points to qualify for the award.

Point Values:
1. DLs: Each regular station in these DOKs is =5 points. A contact with a club station = 10 points.
2. All other countries: Each station = 10 points. A contact with a club station = 20 points.
3. During 2014, the point values shown above count double.

Club stations: DF0FKB, DK0B, DK0DS, DK0EB <BR> DK0IN, DL0AH, DL0CRS, DL0CWW, DL0BW, DN4KB.

The same station may be worked on different bands and / or operating modes for award credit. . German stations in the same OV need 7 contacts in these DOKs. SWL OK on same basis.

KAZAKHSTAN — Almaty Radio League Award Program ---

General Requirements: This awards program has been established by the Almaty Radio Amateur League in cooperation with the „Otan" technical sports club of Almaty. The awards are issued based on a submitted log extract both for operators and SWL. QSOs are valid since 1991, with any modes and any bands which are permitted, including WARC bands. Repeat QSOs are allowed for the particular awards. Refer to the rules.

The award application is to be prepared based on the standard form specifying the key data: callsign of the Kazakhstani station, date, time, mode and report.
Cost of award: All traditional paper awards are FREE if delivered in digital format. Refer to rules for the charges for some of the awards which are still provided in paper format, or which are Plaques.

"Worked All Kazakhstan" (WAKZ) Award

The award has 3 classes.
1st class – contact stations of all 14 regions of Kazakhstan and 3 key cities of national significance.
2nd class- contact stations of 11 regions of Kazahstan and 2 key cities of national significance.
3rd class – contact stations of 7 regions of Kazakhstan and 1 key city of national significance.

SWLs can request to obtain the award based on similar conditions.
QSOs are those valid since 1991 in any mode and on any band including WARC.
Send log extract and fee for CIS hams equivalent of $US5 or 5 IRC, and $US7 or 7 IRC for all others.

"Worked Kazakhstan Stations" (W-KZ) Award

Contact the required numbers of Kazakhstan amateurs:

W-10-KZ for 10 QSOs
W-30-KZ for 30 QSOs
W-50-KZ for 50 QSOs
W-70-KZ for 70 QSOs
W-100-KZ for 100 QSOs
W-150-KZ for 150 QSOs
W-200-KZ for 200 QSOs
W-300-KZ for 300 QSP etc.

The applicants who make enough QSOs to be eligible to receive the award with W-100-KZ class or above during one year will be entitled to receive a special plaque. QSOs are valid those made since the year of 1991 in all modes and on all bands including WARC.

QSOs made through any kind of analog or digital repeaters are not valid except those made through amateur space satellites. The award application is to be prepared based on the standard form specifying the key data: callsign of the Kazakhstani station, date, time, mode and report. Paper Awards are free and delivered in digital format. The cost of the special plaque is $US30.

"Lights of Alatau" Award and Trophy

The Lights of Alatau award is issued to all licensed amateur operators in the world as well as to SWLs for QSO (SWL) with amateur radio stations of Almaty and Almaty oblast (callsign suffixes beginning with G,Q and V letters). The award application must have all the letters of the suffix letter including G, Q and V.

The award is offered in three classes to applicants who reach the scores - 25, 15 and 10 points. For 50 points, the applicant is eligible to receive the Lights of Alatau– Trophy. (there must be made 5 QSOs with Q-suffixed stations and 3 QSOs with V-suffixed stations) .

CIS applicants will get 4 points for each QSO (SWL) on the 160m band, 2 points for 80m band, and 1 point for each QSO on all the other HF bands (including WARC). Applicants from outside the CIS will receive double the point score for QSOs on 160 and 80 m bands.

Contacts made using digital modes for each QSO gives an additional 1 point regardless of the band. 
For QSOs on VHF/UHF bands (50 MHz and above) each contact gives 10 points.

Almaty hams get 0.5 points for each QSO with G and Q-suffix stations on VHF/UHF and 2 points for QSO with V-suffix station.

Repeat QSOs are valid provided they are made on separate bands or on separate modes. Also QSOs with mobile and portable station (signing /ð and /à) if it has a single operator from Almaty and Almaty oblast are valid on the same band if the station has operated from a different grid square.

QSOs with ARL club station UN0GL and WWII veteran U7GL provide 5 points on HF bands and 15 points on VHF/UHF (for Almaty hams 2 and 1 points accordingly). 
QSOs and SWL are valid made in any mode and on any band since the year of 1991.

Cost of paper award:
for Kazakhstani hams – equivalent of $US3 (in Tenge),
for CIS hams - equivalent of $US7 or 7 IRC,
for all others – $US10 or 10 IRC.
The cost of the Lights of Alatau– Trophy for Kazakhstani hams is $US25 in Tenge, for all the other hams – $US30.

"Medeo" Award

Contact amateur radio stations of Almaty (call sign suffix beginning with letter G). The award has three levels and a Trophy (plaque). In order to become eligible to obtain the award the following number of QSOs need to be made:

QSO are valid since 1991, any modes and any bands are permitted including WARC.

QSOs with ARL club station UN0GL (UP0G in contest) and a WWII veteran U7GL provide 2 points regardless of the band. 

Awards of 3, 2 and 1 grade are provided in electronic format free of charge. The cost of plaque is $US30.

Plaque for National Parks and Nature Reserves of Kazakhstan Activators

Activators may earn a special plaque for operating from Kazakhstan Natural Parks and Nature Reserves. Activate 4 national parks or nature reserves of Kazakhstan with at least one national park or nature reserve in the Almaty oblast. At least 44 QSOs are to be made from previously activated places or 300 QSOs from the new one.

Provide evidence to verify the station actually operated from the place claimed. The sufficient evidence includes:

- Picture of GPS screen
- Pictures from entry check points, name plates, warning signs
- Pictures from the location of operation depicting deployed equipment and antennas

Submit the original of the QSL for operation from the national parks or nature reserves with the obligatory statement of references activated according to the approved reference list for Kazakhstan «National Park and Nature Reserves» under the WFF and UNFF programs.

Award fee for the plaque is $US30 (equivalent in Tenge)

There’s no restriction as to the timing or period to fulfill the program conditions.  Radio amateurs from CIS or from the abroad must activate 2 national parks or nature reserves of Almaty oblast (obligatory condition) making at least 300 QSOs from each.  QSO are valid if they are made in any modes and on any bands including WARC.

This award series includes 7 awards. Each award can be claimed by the operator, club or SWL, who provides evidence in the form of ADIF extract from the operating log showing the QSOs (SWL) with amateur radio stations of Kazakhstan. All modes are valid. QSO are valid on any bands including WARC made since the year of 1991. Repeated QSOs are not counted. The xsl or cbr file extract from the operating log must clearly show the Grid Square (QTH locator) of the Kazakhstani stations worked. (Such as MN82, MN83, etc.)The awards are issued for fulfilling the following conditions:

QSOs are valid on any bands including WARC since the year of 1991.

Repeated QSOs are not valid.

NOMAD-VHF/UHF Award Program

The Nomad-VHF/UHF award program was developed to foster the amateur radio activity on VHF/UHF bands in Kazakhstan.
Basic conditions: stations making 2-way QSOs on VHF/UHF bands (above 30 MHz) must earn a score equaling the terrestrial distance calculated between the two stations, using the standard distance calculation methods utilized for 6 character QTH-locators. In order to fulfill the conditions to become eligible to receive the award the applicant must accumulate certain total distance while making radio contacts. Only QSOs with Kazakhstani stations are counted for the award.

Special notes:

1. Applicants who have made QSOs with all QTH-sectors of Kazakhstan (LN, MN, MO, NO, NN) are entitled to have a special endorsement on the award «ALL QTH-SECTORS» since he/she has fulfilled the condition of increased difficulty.

2. Applicants who accumulate 30000, 40000, 50000 km distance are entitled to receive a special endorsement on the award stating the total accumulated distance rounded to the higher number in tens of thousands km.

3. Applicants who fulfill award conditions using one particular mode of modulation are entitled to receive the special endorsement showing the mode was used to obtain the award.

4. The «Nomad VHF/UHF Activator» class is issued to amateur radio operators who activate a new grid square (for example, MN81, MN80 and etc). While doing that they must stay for 2 days in the row in one particular QTH and make not fewer than 10 QSO with distant stations on VHF/UHF. The distant stations are assumed to be those located more than 200 km away from the activator.

5. A special trophy «Nomad VHF/UHF Activator Elite» is issued to the activators who worked from all QTH-sectors of Kazakhstan as listed above while making not fewer than 10 QSOs  with distant stations and staying 2 days in the row in one QTH during the time of activation.

6. VHF/UHF QSOs are counted in any mode, any power level, using any types of antennas and other devices related to transmission and reception of signals.

7. The applicants are allowed to make QSOs with Kazakhstani stations operating from automobiles, maritime ships and aircraft, railway vehicle provided these operators know and transmit their exact current QTH locator with the accuracy of 4 symbols (for instance, MN52). In case if during such a QSO the correspondent failed to transmit his/her QTH-locator, the QSO is not counted valid as per award program conditions.

8. Making QSOs by means of echolink, or through any other amateur radio repeaters on VHF/UHF are not valid except those made via amateur space satellites.

9. QSOs are valid since 1st of January 1991.

10. To obtain the award the applicant must provide copies of QSL-cards received for QSOs made, in scanned format. QSL-cards must have clearly filled out data fields including correspondent callsign, date and timing of QSO, band, mode, reports exchanged. Electronic copies of QSL-cards must be made in 200 dpi resolution or more, and must be made in full color scan mode.

11. Simple extract from station’s log is not acceptable.  The email application must have the table with the following columns:

The calculated distance can be derived by using various ham radio software or visually by using the website http://f6fvy.free.fr/qthLocator/fullScreen.php  In case of discrepancies found in calculation of terrestrial distance between the stations the correct distance shall be determined using the web link shown above.

Special conditions:

In case if the applicant had changed his/her QTH and operated on VHF/UHF with amateur stations of Kazakhstan he/she will be entitled to submit the QSOs with the same correspondent several times provided they made QSOs with them from different QTH. This requires the QTH not to be changed more frequently than once every 3 days. Between the change of QTH the applicant must operate from one QTH not less than 2 days in a row before moving on.

The award is issued free of charge in PDF format. The printed awards are issued at their actual cost of printing + shipping and is aligned with the award program manager separately.

Cost of trophy issued to the program activators is covered by Almaty Radio Amateur League and other sponsors.


Republic of the PHILIPPINES                        Pearl of the Orient Seas DX Award

Issued by the Philippine Amateur Radio League, Inc. (PARL) for confirmed two-way contacts with at least 12 different member stations of PARL on or after November 20, 1962. The award is available to all amateurs and SWLs. Apply using the official application form which is made available on their website noted below.

Each application must be accompanied by an endorsement from the applicant's national society or from any two licensed amateurs other than the applicant certifying that the QSL cards of the contacts listed are in the possession of the applicant and that the details of the cards are correctly listed. If such a statement is not available, the applicant must submit all the QSL cards concerned.

Contacts may be made on any authorized amateur radio frequency using any authorized mode. However, cross-mode, one-way QSO’s or repeater contacts are not valid for the award.

POLAND                                    ARCTOWSKI ANTARCTIC AWARD (A.A.A.)

This award is issued under the auspices of Polish Academy of Sciences, Department of Antarctic Biology in Warsaw. The President of Polish Amateur Radio Union is the Patron of this Award.

The award is available to amateurs and SWLs submitting proof of contacts (or SWL reports) with stations HFØPOL, HFØAPAS and others, operating from ARCTOWSKI POLISH ANTARCTIC STATION on King George Island in Antarctica, or with operators active from different National Antarctic Stations. Special event stations with prefixes and suffixes of HF….POL and HF….APAS, will also count. No date limitation.

Requirements: Earn a total of 15 points according to the following criteria:
a. QSOs with HFØPOL, HFØAPAS and other call signs operating from ARCTOWSKI Station = 10 points.
b. QSOs with any other operators, working from other Nation's Bases in Antarctica = 5 points.
c. QSOs with Special Event Stations HF….POL, HF….APAS, also = 5 points.
d. One QSO with HFØPOL or HFØAPAS; HF….POL or HF….APAS is obligatory.
e. Repeat or /Duplicated QSO/SWL are not allowed.

Issued for QSOs with members of the club "Contour" To obtain the award you need to earn 30 points. Each member = 1 point. C.ub stations = 3, and "Honorable" members of the club = 5 points. When working DIGI, as well as the 160 m and UHF bands these point values are doubled. Repeated QSOs on different bands count for the award.

Kalmius II Diploma

Diploma "Kalmius II» is issued for holding a QSO with two expeditions worked with various banks of the rivers over 10 km long, entering the pool Kalmius or for taking part in a radio expeditions, who worked with the bank of the river over 10 km long, part of the pool Kalmius.

Repeat QSOs are not counted. The application must specify the names of rivers, which worked with the expedition.

The application for the award of an expedition should specify call sign used, the name of the participants, the name of the river bank where she worked with the expedition, the basic information about the equipment and antennas, the total amount spent QSO (LOG do not need to send), and a photo to be attached if possible..

Miner Diploma

The diploma is issued for a QSO with settlements in the Donetsk region, within the areas used for open pit mining. Make 30 QSOs with at least 10 settlements. On 160 meters and UHF, as well as any digital mode QSO counts as 2. At least 2 QSOs with stations in Dokuchaev are needed.. All QSOs must be with different stations. Your application must specify the name of the village.

Velikoanadolsky Forest Diploma

Diploma awarded for QSOs with at least two radio stations operating from the territory of the Ukrainian steppe reserve in the Donetsk region (URFF-026), and at least one QSO should be conducted with one located in the Velikoanadolskiy forest. Credited QSO with different callsigns, who worked in one of the expedition, and the QSO with the same callsign, who worked in various expeditions.

QSO with one expedition can be replaced by five QSO with fixed stations: 3 in the Volnovakha area (DO-16) and 2 in the Dokuchaevsk (DO-24). The diploma is also issued to radio amateurs who took part in an expedition to the Velikoanadolsky forest.

The diploma is issued for contacts with 30 stations located in countries and areas that intersect the 48th parallel. At least 15 countries and territories are required. Repeat QSOs with same station on different bands count for the award.

The prefixes from at least 3 different members of the club "circuit" are required). If the contacts are all made on 160 meters, or on UHF, only 20 prefixes are needed.



RUSSIA                                                       Dimitrovgrad Diploma

This award is established in 2012 in honor of 40th anniversary of the renaming the town of Dimitrovgrad, in the Ulyanovsk Region. Dimitrovgrad (previously called Melekess) is a city in Russia, the administrative center Melekessky district of Ulyanovsk region, located on the left bank of the Kuibyshev reservoir at the confluence of the Cheremshan River.The current name of the city was made on June 15, 1972 in honor of Bulgarian communist Georgi Dimitrov anti-fascist.

Earn 40 points by contacting radio stations in the following cities/RDA Districts:
     a. Dimitrovgrad (UL-06),
     b. Melekessky region (UL-14) and
     c. Novomalyklinskogo region (UL-16).

Each contact on the HF bands = 5 points and on VHF =10 points. Special commemorative stations =20 points on the HF and 40 points on VHF. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War need just one QSO. Contacts on or after 1 Jan 2012.  The same station may be worked on different bands or modes (SSB, CW, RTTY, BPSK31, BPSK63, BPSK125, JT65) for award credit. No use of repeaters.  Stations located in the RDA areas listed above may receive the award for making at least 400 QSOs on HF or 40 on VHF. SWL OK on same terms.

RUSSIA                                                         KURSK Diploma

The award commemorates the gigantic WWII struggle known as the Battle of Kursk (1943). You must earn the number of points which equals the number of years which have passed since the battle took place.  In 2012 this will be 69 points, in 2013, 70 points, etc. 

The areas which provide valid contacts are:
     a. The Kursk Region where the call sign area and first letter of the suffix are 3W (UA3W...   RA3W....  etc.)
     b. Belgorod 3Z.
     c. Orel 3E.
     d. Kharkiv Region (Ukraine) (UR5L...  EM5L...... etc.)
These contacts should be made during the period from July 5 to August 23rd of each year (dates of the battles) as well as February 8th (date of actual liberation).

Point values:
     a. QSOs with the 3Z, 3E, 3W and 5L = 1 point each.
     b. If station contacted is a Patriotic War Veteran of these battles = 3 points each. 
     c. Asian applicants and QSOs made on 160 meters  = point values are doubled.
     d. DX stations and VHF contacts = point values are tripled. 

Activating stations may earn the award by making the number of QSOs shown below:
     a. Category 1 = 500 QSOs.
     b. Category 2 = 375 QSOs.
     c. Category 3 = 250 QSOs.
     d. Category 4 = 100 QSOs. 

The award is free of charge, but the sponsors request all applicants pay postal costs which will be 15 rubles for Russians and the equivalent of $US1 for all others.

RUSSIA                                                           "Moscow - The Port of Five Seas" Diploma

Thanks to a network of canals and rivers, the inland city of Moscow is a seaport for vessels of Five Seas. Earn the award by making contact with stations in Moscow, the Moscow Region including the Moscow Canal and the Oka Rivers, and cities which are located on the coasts of the White, Baltic, Azov, Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. SWL cards from these areas OK. All bands and modes OK.

No time limitations on QSO/SWL. Same station may be contacted if on different bands or modes. If all QSOs are made on 160 meters, then only one QSO with Moscow and five stations on the sea coasts noted above will be sufficient. No use of repeaters.

The city of Murom is a historic city in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, which sprawls along the left bank of Oka River. It was the home town of the most celebrated East Slavic epic hero, Ilya Muromets whom this award honors.

The award may be earned by submitting proof of making 10 QSO / SWL with radio contacts with the city of Murom and of stations in the Murom District. On VHF, only one QSO is needed. Repeat contacts with the same station are allowed on different bands and modes for credit. No time limitations. RUSSIA                                                                  Togliatti - Stavropol Diploma 

The Diploma "Togliatti - Stavropol '" is sponsored by the Togliatti MoD RAF in honor of the 275th anniversary of the city of Togliatti in the Samara region. The city was founded on the Volga River in 1737 and became known as Stavropol.

Contact at least 15 amateurs from Togliatti (Russian District Award numbers: SR-10, SR-11, SR-12), Zhigulevsk (SR-13), and the Stavropol region (SR-42) on or after 1 January 2012. The same station may be contacted on different bands and modes for award credit. On VHF, only 3 QSOs are needed to earn the award. No use of repeaters.

Hams of the Togliatti, Stavropol region and Zhigulevsk for must make at least 275 QSOs on HF and on VHF at least 3 amateur radio QSO in different regions of Russia, outside of the Samara region.

The Diploma "Togliatti - Stavropol" is available in electronic format only, with NO charge. SLOVENIA                                                S5 World Castles Award

The S5 WCA diploma will be issued to all radio amateurs who contact (or activate) Slovenian castles (objects) according to the rules for this award. .A list of all Slovenian castles (or objects) is found on their website.

The award for contacts is available in three levels:
S5 WCA 30 – contact at least 30 different Slovenian castles
S5 WCA 60 -contact at least 60 different Slovenian castles
S5 WCA 100 – contact least 100 different Slovenian castles

Activators may earn the award for different objects they activate:
S5 WCA Knight – activate at least 20 Slovenian castles
WCA S5 Bronze Knight - activate at least 40 Slovenian castles
WCA S5 Silver Knight - activate at least 65 Slovenian castles
WCA S5 Golden Knight - activate at least 100 Slovenian castles

To earn lthe S5WCA Knight, it is necessary to make at least 50 QSOs. Band and mode are not important. No time constraints apply so they can also activate one object several days, until the operator achieves a sufficient number of QSOs (50) for recognition of the castle in the quota to win diplomas. Operators who live closer than 1km from an activated building must make at least 1000 QSO, though there is also no time limit.

The award fee is 4€ or $US5, and may be paid by bank transfer to bank account. SPAIN                                 Diploma Geodetic Markers of Spain (DVGE)

Contact stations on or after 1 November 2006 which operate in the close vicinity of specially marked geodetic markers in Spain. These distinctive short cylindrical towers have been put into place in thousands of locations and are used in the establishment of property boundaries within Spain. SWL OK. All bands and modes may be used. Valid contacts may be made from stations which operate from fixed locations, portable and mobile.

The stations who activate these markers are required to send an electronic log of all contacts they make during the activation. When you are ready to apply, or just want to see how many contacts you have in their database, you can go to their site, seek your call sign on the list of stations who have contacts, and this will be your application information. (As of 1/20/12, there are 791,724 QSO listed form 2693 award reference locations.)

UKRAINE                        Worked Black Sea Contest Club Members  (W-BSCC-M Award)

The Black Sea Contest Club (Ukraine) offers a special award as an incentive for contacting their member stations on or after 13 August 2006 during any contests throughout the year. The award is available to all licensed radio amateurs and SWLs for QSOs (SWL) with BSCC members contacted only in contests. 

The basic award may be earned by contacting (SWL) 100 different members of BSCC using any modes. Endorsement stickers are available for each subsequent 50 QSO (SWL) with club members.(150 QSO, 200 QSO etc.) 

Applications should be submitted showing contacts in alphabetical order by call signs, with data of QSO (for SWL – two-way QSO data), including BSCC membership numbers, as well as the name of competition in which the contacts were made. 

The application should be Certified by the signatures of two radio amateurs or local radio club and forwarded to the award manager: A.V. Kazantsev P.O.Box 4, Kerch, 98319, Ukraine or by e-mail to: uu0jm@mail.ru .
