USA                    ARRL Mobile DXCC Award

This award is available to amateurs who have contacted at least 100 DXCC entities from a vehicle, capable of moving itself, using only power and antennas that may also be moved with the vehicle.  Contacts made any time in the past count and proof of contact (QSL cards or LoTW) is required, but do not need to be submitted with your application.  ARRL may ask for proof of contact if there are any questions about the claimed QSO.  The MOBILE DXCC is a one-time award and is non-endorsable.  You do not have to be an ARRL member to qualify.

Please note that it is not required to be in motion while operating. Distracted driving is a serious concern. Exercise care when operating and obey all laws.

Definition of Mobile Station and Mobile Operating:
A mobile QSO appropriate for this award is defined as a QSO made from a mobile station which is contained in a legally licensed, self-propelled, land-based vehicle capable of movement before, after, or during the QSO and which provides all power to the radio equipment (no commercial or external electrical power can be used), and using only antennas mounted fully on the same mobile vehicle or a directly connected attachment and which moves together any time the vehicle is moved.  The vehicle station must make the QSO with the DX entity exclusively and directly using only the mobile station.  Use of any remote station, radio repeater, and internet interfaced station or system to assist in making the QSO is not permitted.  Any contact made with antennas set-up or usable only when stopped to make the QSO (for example, a dipole or yagi) is classified as “portable” and not “mobile”

For this award.  Mobile stations may use any legal power for the entity wherein they are located.  This award specifically excludes QSOs made by aeronautical or maritime mobile stations.

To apply for the Mobile DXCC, just send a list of your contacts including call signs,
countries/entities and contact dates.  Do not send QSLs.  The list must also carry a signed statement from you that all of the contacts were made from a mobile station as described above.

Mobile DXCC Application.  Use the special form (found at: http://www.arrl.org/mobile-DXCC   to apply for the Mobile DXCC Award.
List the QSOs alpha-numerically according to the DXCC List publication.

Along with your contact list, include fee if $16 for US certificate shipments or $18 for international certificate shipments.  Please include your fee in the form of a check
or money order in US funds.  Make sure to indicate your mailing address and your name as you want it to appear on the certificate.  Mail the application and sent to this address:  Mobile DXCC, ARRL, 225 Main Street, Newington, CT 06111.

USA -  TEXAS                   AMSAT AWARDS

Awards are provided in four categories, which are:
    Satellite Communicators Club
    Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award
    Oscar Sexagesimal Award
    Oscar Century Award

General Requirements: :
1. To submit for AMSAT awards, you need to send copies (you may reduce the size to fit more on a page as long as I can read the QSO information) of the front and backs (if there is QSO information there) of your confirmed QSL cards (eQSL cards are not valid for AMSAT or ARRL awards. Email confirmations of a QSO is also not acceptable) to AMSAT Director of Contests and Awards, Bruce Paige, KK5DO. The cost (unless otherwise noted below) is $5.00 for members (include your membership number) and $10.00 for non-members.

2. Awards must be paid for through the AMSAT.ORG website online store. Postage will automatically be added based on the current postage rates.

3. In 2005 the ability to apply for the awards via email – the preferred method was adopted. Now that the AMSAT Online Store is in full operation, AMSAT is offering the ability to apply for and pay for any of the AMSAT Awards online.

4. To take advantage of this program, you must scan your QSL cards (back side only required if QSO info appears there). Send them as JPG or GIF files attached to your e-mail. You may also put the images in a Word Document or an Adobe PDF document. E-mail your file to the AMSAT Director of Contests and Awards (presently, Bruce, KK5DOs (See above), and indicate which AMSAT Award you are applying for and your name as you want it to appear on the certificate.

 5. 2015 AMSAT will now accept ARRL LOTW entries towards all of the AMSAT awards.

6. Log into your LOTW account, click on ‘Your QSOs’. Select the station you want to include for your AMSAT award. Click on ‘Details’. Use a screen capture program or Windows Snipping tool and attach that screen shot.

7. The information displayed contains both call signs, the DXCC entity, the Grid Square, the time/date and mode for the contact. Everything we need for the contact to be accepted.

8. Attach the jpg files to your email or put them in a PDF file and email them to me along with any scans of cards you will also be using.

9, After your application has been accepted and approved, you will receive a reply email instructing you to make your payment. You may then go online to the AMSAT Online Store and make your payment. Your certificate will then be sent to you using the shipping address you used with the online payment.

10. Those without scanners may still send the Xerox copies of their QSL cards to the AMSAT Director of Contests and Awards and then pay for the awards online after they are accepted.

A. Satellite Communicators’ Club

A. This award is given to any operator for having made their first contact. To apply for this award you need to send a report of your contact (no QSL card is required) to AMSAT Director of Contests and Awards, Bruce Paige, KK5DO. You also need to send $1 for members and $2 for non-members.Please note that U.S. Postage rates now require envelopes with stiffeners in them to go as first class small packages. Please visit the AMSAT online store for the postage rates for the awards. The U.S. Postal Service changes them every year or two.

B. Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award

The Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award is for working 20 contacts on any satellite. A contact is defined as one with a station in your state or another state, DXCC country or Canadian call area. Once you have a contact with a station in that area, you must hunt for another. So, if you work 6 Canadian stations that are all in VE7, then you can only submit one of them towards this award. For those that have the RAC CANDADAWARD or ARRL WAS with satellite endorsements, you may submit a copy of your certificate as proof of working the 13 Canadian Call Areas or 50 U.S. States.  All QSO’s must be completed from locations separated by no more than 25 miles or 40 kilometers.  State shall mean any state of the United States and the District of Columbia.

The ARRL Worked All States award may be used to credit 50 states towards this award. Use of this award will provide credit for Maryland unless documentation is provided that a QSO with the District of Columbia was used as credit for Maryland.

The 14 Canadian call areas are: VE1 – Nova Scotia, VE2 – Quebec, VE3 – Ontario, VE4 – Manitoba, VE5 – Saskatchewan, VE6 – Alberta, VE7 – British Columbia, VE8 – Northwest Territories, VE9 – New Brunswick, VO1 – Newfoundland, VO2 – Labrador, VY0 – Nunavut, VY1 – Yukon, VY2 – Prince Edward Island. The RAC Canadaward may be used to credit 13 Canadian call areas. Use of this award will provide credit for call area VO1 unless documentation is provided that a QSO with VO2 (Labrador) was used as credit for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Callsigns need not reflect the call area operated from. The station location will determine the call area credited.

Credits may not be counted for multiple types of entities. For example, a QSO with Alaska counts as an additional state, not as both a state and DXCC entity.

Oscar Sexagesimal Award

This is the same as the Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award but is given for 60 satellite contacts. All the qualifications and costs are the same.

Oscar Century Award

This award is the same as the Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award but is given for the first 100 satellite contacts. Qualifications and costs are the same.

Please note: The previous Oscar Satellite Communications Achievement Award, Sexagesimal Award, and the Century Award are aggregated. Once you have worked your first 20 contacts those 20 contacts apply towards the needed 60 contacts for the Sexagesimal Award, so you only need 40 more contacts. The same is true for the 100 needed contacts for the Century Award, once you get your 60 contacts, you only need 40 more for your 100 needed contacts!

South Africa AMSAT Satellite Communication Achievement Award

This award is given to those who have made contact with 25 different stations on phase 2 satellites. Satellites that qualify for this award are AO-7, Fuji-Oscar 20/29, AO-21, AO-27 and RS-10/12/15, UO-14, AO-49, SO-50, AO-51 and future satellites that are LEO. These contacts may all be in the same state or Canadian call area. You only need 25 contacts. AO-10, AO-13 and AO-40 contacts do not count. The costs are the same as previous awards and are also sent to AMSAT Director of Contests and Awards, Bruce Paige, KK5DO.

VHF/UHF Century Club (VUCC)

VHF/UHF Century Club award is for working 100 different grid squares and you can receive it with satellite contacts. Endorsements are for each additional 25 grids worked. You can get information and an application from ARRL by visiting their website at http://www.arrl.org.
SATPX Award or Satellite Prefix Award

ARRL Worked All States (WAS)

The ARRL Worked All States Award is awarded to a station that has made contact with a station in each of the 50 states. You can request an application from ARRL headquarters (www.arrl.org ). There is no 5-Band WAS for Satellite.

Worked All Continents (WAC)

This requires contacting a station on each of the 6 continents. This award is also administered by the ARRL (www.arrl.org). Cards and application must be sent to the ARRL, there is no other way to receive this award.

DX Century Club (DXCC)

The award that is the most difficult to attain on satellite is the DX Century Club Award. This award requires a station to make contacts in 100 different DXCC countries on satellite and getting QSL cards from of them to confirm the contacts. Applications are available from the ARRL (www.arrl.org ).

A670
USA -  GEORGIA           Worked All Georgia Award

Ever wonder why a state the size of Georgia would have 159 counties? California, which is THREE times as big, only has 58. So why 159 for Georgia? Some people say it's to provide a more fertile environment for, um, "local politics." Others say it's so that every person in the state could go by mule from his home to the county seat and back in one day.

The LaGrange Amateur Radio Club, with the support of the Georgia Section of the ARRL, is proud to support the "Worked All Georgia" Award. The WAG Award is open to radio amateurs who can provide proof of two-way radio amateur radio contact with all 159 counties in the state of Georgia. This award is nice complement to the annual Georgia QSO Party, which in fact would be a good time to work on some of those hard-to-get counties. The award is embodied in a nice certificate.

All contacts count, old and new -- so pull out the QSL cards and see how close you already are. The details of the WAG Award are as follows:

Modes:     Mixed, CW, Phone (SSB, AM, FM), Digital (RTTY, PSK31, either individually or collectively), Satellite, Single Band (2m through 160m), 5 Band (10m 15m 20m, 40m, and 80m)
QRP (5 watts for the award station).

Conditions:
All QSOs must be 2-way using the same mode. No repeater or cross-mode contacts allowed.
For the basic award, all contacts must be made from the same "Home QTH." However, to encourage people to get out and drive around, set up their rigs in the deer stand, or take it along in the RV, or whatever, we have a special "ROVER" endorsement. For this endorsement, contacts with Georgia counties count no matter where they were made. Just indicate that on the application form.

Fee: The award is FREE of any charges.

Applications:
1. Applications for the WAG Award Certificate must be submitted on the WAG Award application form, along with a county record sheet showing call sign of station worked, date, time (UTC), band, and mode. The Application Form can be downloaded (see url bottom of this page, or by sending a SASE to the WAG Awards manager listed below. You'll also need the Georgia Counties Checklist, which includes the Georgia QSO Party county abbreviations.
Submission of QSL cards is not required. QSOs are to be verified by 2 non-family amateur licensees, General class or higher, signed on the application sheet. eQSLs are acceptable. The WAG Award manager reserves the right to spot-check for validity by contacting the applicant.
US "All County" holders can have the above requirement waived by submitting their All County number and award date. Single band applicants must submit a county check sheet.
Five-band applicants must fill out a separate application form for each band.
Submit your application (MS Word .doc form here), properly verified, to K4EAK at the address below.  For further information, or to submit your application, please contact:

USA - WASHINGTON                    Loggers Certificate

Logger's Certificate: This certificate is awarded to any licensed radio amateur who documents that they have worked at least ten members of the club. Contacts can be made on any band using any mode, and even repeater contacts are allowed. There is no logging or QSL confirmation requirement as it’s based solely on the honor system. Endorsements may be earned for each additional ten club members worked.

Applicants do not need to be a member of the club to apply – in fact, the program from its inception has had the side benefit of helping to introduce new hams to the fact the club exists and to encourage new members to join.

The Logger’s Certificate was first issued in April 1957. From that time through 2007, 657 awards were made, many documenting contacts with long-time and influential members of the Radio Club of Tacoma.

The cumbersome paper database system used to maintain the award eventually led to its disuse, but as of 2016 (the club's Centennial year) the Logger's Certificate is revived and is once again available.  We actually still have a many-year supply of the original Logger’s Certificate blanks from the second printing by long-time club member and professional printer Dick Ryan, W7RGD, in 1959.

So start listening for Radio Club of Tacoma members on the repeaters and the HF bands to earn your own Logger’s Certificate! Simply document the members you worked (preferably with a date, band and mode, for the database) and submit your entry to the address shown below.

The club will also produce reissues for anyone who has lost track of a certificate they received in the past.  Just provide your call sign so that the database can be searched.

USA - PENNSYLVANIA                                                                    The Key Stone Award

The Pennsylvania Keystone Award (PKA) was created to promote two way contact with Amateur Radio stations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  The award is given to amateurs who directly contact 100 different Pennsylvania amateur radio stations.  No retransmitted contacts may be counted, including repeater and digital retransmissions, of course.  Applying is easy - no QSL cards are required.  If you already have a PKA certificate in your shack you can earn endorsements for it as well.

Many amateurs apply for the award after participating in the annual Pennsylvania QSO Party in October.  This event is the most popular QSO party in the United States.

History: The PKA award was created over 30 years ago.  The program was dormant for a period and revitalized in 1992.  The award has always been sponsored by the Harrisburg Radio Amateur's Club.  The organization has over 150 members from south central Pennsylvania and has been an ARRL affiliated club for 50 years.  Today over 420 PKA awards have been issued to amateurs worldwide.

Endorsements: An endorsement is available for working 100 different Pennsylvania amateur radio stations in any calendar year after the year the certificate is originally issued.

Application: Send an alphabetical-by-call list of 100 different Pennsylvania stations worked.  The list must include:

Station Call, Date of QSO, Time, Band and Mode.  The following statement must also be made on the submission:  "I certify that the above list is a true record of the contacts of Amateur Radio Station ______".

Mail your application to the address below.

Charges: United States and possessions:  $3.00 US.  There is no charge for endorsements.

USA            The Rag Chewers' Club Award

The Society for the Preservation of Amateur Radio (SPAR) is pleased to offer the ever popular Rag Chewers' Club award. This prestigious award is available to all amateur radio operators who submit evidence of having "chewed the rag" using amateur radio.

The Rag Chewers' Club award was offered by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) for many years. It was initially free of charge and very popular, especially for new hams. Later the ARRL began charging for the award and its popularity waned. Finally, in 2004, the ARRL decided to discontinue the award due to lack of interest. In view of the history and goodwill embodied in this most noble of ham radio activities, Rag Chewing, SPAR has reactivated this unique and illustrious award.

To qualify for the Rag Chewers' Club award, you need to submit a report of having had a 2 way QSO (not a net) using amateur radio that lasted at least 30 minutes. RCC members are encouraged to invite new hams of any age or license class to apply for the award. Of course, all the rules and regulations pertaining to the Amateur Radio Service must be followed during any QSO.

USA  -  LOUISIANA          The "RARE ONES" of New Orleans

The “Rare Ones” award of New Orleans was resurrected on February 22, 2017 after much deliberation and thought by nine (9) amateur radio operators in the Greater New Orleans Area.  The purpose of the group is to informally promote the amateur radio HF Communications, the City of New Orleans, and the Audubon Zoo.

The original “Rare Ones” award of New Orleans was established in 1965.  The current  “Rare Ones” represent the third generation of this fine group, and has continued to promote New Orleans and it unique culture, history and fine traditions.

EARNING the “Rare Ones”
Depending on which Rare One (club member) you contact, it may be by LoTW, eQSL, QRZ or by direct mail.  Contacts have to be by one of the standard methods to confirm a contact.  (And no, it cannot be on a signed napkin at the Famous Pat O’Brien’s Bar in the French Quarter!)  FYI, some of the Rare Ones are frequent guests at many well known New Orleans after hour establishments.  Remember, that we may buy you a drink, but it is not a confirmed contact, at least, by amateur radio standards.

To provide proof of QSO’s for one the Rare Ones fine awards, all you need to do is provide photos of a QSL Card, screen shot of your LoTW or eQSL account, etc. and email it to our Awards Manager, K5NQ – His email address on QRZ is fine!  There are no hard and fast rules, but we can smell a photo shop scam a mile away.  Ultimately, our Awards Manager, K5NQ – Noisy Quail, has the final say in determining award certification.  The Rare Ones appreciate you taking the time to talk with us and learn a little bit about New Orleans Culture and History, and we hope you will come visit our great city in the near future.

How to get the Award:
1. Clean Sweep Award –
Any existing Associate Member can apply for the award by submitting the standard log sheet indicating established contact with all nine of the “Rare Ones”.  A new log sheet must be submitted.  Any new qualifying Associate Member submitting their log sheet with nine “Rare Ones” confirmed will automatically receive both certificates.

WASHINGTON                             Worked All Washington Counties Award (WA-WAC)

The Clark County Amateur Radio Club offers a beautiful certificate for any station that works all 39 counties of the state of Washington after 1 Jan 1995.

List of State of Washington counties are:
Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Clark, Columbia, Cowlitz, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Lincoln, Mason, Okanogan, Pacific, Pen Oreille, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, Spokane, Stevens, Thurston, Wahkiakum, Walla Walla, Whatcom, Whitman and Yakima.

Purpose: To acknowledge and recognize the achievement of contacting radio operators in each of Washington state’s 39 counties.

Rules: Work each county on any band using any mode of transmission.  You may mix modes in your report.  A valid contact is an exchange of information between two operators; one from any county in Washington and the other operator on a fixed or mobile station anywhere in the U.S.  In other words, you do not have to make all contacts from inside Clark County. There is no time limit on earning this award.

You must keep a log showing the frequency the contact was made on, the mode, the GMT date and time, signal report exchanged, call sign of the contacted unit, their signal report, and the county they are in. Any manual log or contest program printout will suffice as long as it has the required information. The difficult part is that you will need to report a verifiable contact (QSL card, LoTW, etc.) for each of your contacts. This is your proof of contact. Your log report needs to be verified by two other operators, signed, and dated by each. Cross Mode, Cross Band (except Satellite QSO’s), Repeaters, Echolink, CQ100 or IRLP contacts do not count.

Submission:   To apply for the award, send the verified log report either to Clark County ARC, Attn: WA-WAC, PO Box 1424, Vancouver, WA 98668 or email to wa-wac@w7aia.org .  A fee of $5 US for a pre-printed award to be mailed to you is required, otherwise, the award is FREE in the form of an Adobe .PDF file you can use to print the award in your shack

Tracking forms in the format of EXCEL and PDF are found on the website.
